A collaboration with MidPen Housing, Alameda Point Collaborative, Building Futures, and Operation Dignity, RESHAP is a new master plan integrating 332 new affordable homes and services for diverse residents in need in Alameda.

Pronounced “reshape”, the RESHAP (Rebuilding the Existing Supportive Housing at Alameda Point) Alameda plan is the redevelopment of approximately 8 acres of Alameda’s former Navy base.

DBA is partnered with MidPen Housing and three local non-profit organizations to develop a cohesive community that will provide 332 stable new homes with enhanced services for residents while also re-energizing Alameda’s Main Street Neighborhood.

Together with MidPen, DBA created and implemented a highly collaborative resident outreach process that informed the City’s approved Specific Plan for the neighborhood. Engagement opportunities included monthly meetings with residents, focus groups with development partners, community-wide design input meetings, and one-on-one interviews.

The site plan was crafted with the goals of modernization, community-supporting open spaces, enhanced supportive services, and increased housing capacity. The RESHAP Development Plan was unanimously approved by the Alameda Planning Board in May 2023.

DBA is designing the housing within the plan, including Stardust Gardens, affordable family housing, and Harbor Village, supportive housing for Veterans.
