Nashville TN | In Design
Developed by Urban Housing Solutions (UHS), the four-story, all-electric building will provide 58 one-bedroom homes for individuals in need of permanently supportive housing.
The building is articulated as two intersecting volumes: One, a subtly faceted “megacurve” clad in standing-seam weathering steel facing the interior of the site; the other, a more restrained bar with plank siding accented by perforated aluminum sunshades facing the to the west.
At the street edge, a custom screen wraps the stair tower and a common balcony at each residential floor, and also frames a welcoming entry canopy, guiding visitors to the developer’s new offices and the on-site resilience clinic offering health and wellness services.
Each supportive home includes a private balcony. Residents will share access to a generous suite of indoor and outdoor community amenities—including the common balconies, a fitness area and walking path, garden beds, a barbeque patio, and a deep veranda that offers space to gather, socialize, and unwind.
Shaped through ongoing resident engagement, the design reflects community input at every level—fostering a welcoming, stable, and dignified environment for current and future residents.
Our interiors studio DBA_Inside is leading the interior design for the residential amenity spaces, UHS offices, and resilience clinic. The interior environments have been developed following principles of Trauma-Informed and Universal Design, with an emphasis on clear sightlines, warm and natural materials, views of nature, and accessibility throughout.
