Hunters View Phase 3

San Francisco CA | In Design

This project comprises two integrated sites within the third phase of the Hunters View HOPE SF master plan, providing 118 affordable homes in two buildings flanking a new public park. The housing is part of the ILFI Affordable Housing Pilot, seeking to achieve a high level of resilience for affordable multi-family buildings.

853 and 855 Hunters View Drive comprise the Phase III component of the Hunters View HOPE SF project, which includes both public housing replacement units and tax credit units. As a result, all 118 units will be for rent at below market-rate.

The ground floor of 853 will feature a San Francisco Public Library Outpost outfitted with Internet access, available to all residents of the neighborhood, who experience disproportionately less access to library and learning facilities. The ground floor of 855 will include space for a future restaurant or market, filling a critical gap in a neighborhood with poor access to healthy foods. The project will also include the development of all new infrastructure for the western end of Hunters View, including new streets, streetlights, sidewalks, and streetscape landscaping.

853 and 855 frame a new neighborhood open space, Bayview Park. At almost 3/4 of an acre it will be the  largest open space in the Hunters View neighborhood, and will feature multiple elements for residents of all ages, including play structures for children, picnic and barbecue areas for families, and shaded seating for seniors and others to interact, relax, and enjoy views of the Bay. It is being designed with extensive community input by Fletcher Studio Landscape Architects.
