San Francisco CA | Completed
The new community brings refreshed vibrancy and increased safety to a developing part of the Bayview neighborhood. Broken into discrete volumes to reflect the surrounding residential fabric, the five-story building steps down a steep slope. The ground level features social-services offices, a resident lounge linked to the laundry room and computer lab, and a community room that opens onto a sheltered central courtyard, creating a flexible indoor-outdoor space used for community events and the on-site after-school program.
Designed with Rebar Group, the courtyard features an outdoor dining and playground area surrounded by an “edible landscape”—an 8,500-sft urban garden with fruit trees, vines, and raised planting beds that allow residents to grow their own food.
DBA_Inside designed the Bayview Hill Gardens interiors, see more here.
