This collaborative webinar, hosted by AIA Housing and Community Development and the AIA Committee on the Environment, will feature this year’s 2026 COTE Top Ten Award: Kapuso at the Upper Yard by Mithun. Kapuso brings 131 permanently affordable, all-electric homes to Balboa Park Station, one of San Francisco’s busiest transit hubs. A cross-disciplinary team from Mithun will discuss how they used an integrated design approach to transit-oriented affordable housing, public realm improvements, and decarbonization to strengthen neighborhood connectivity and equity outcomes.

Katie, a member of the AIA Leadership Team, will talk with Mithun’s team about the integrated design decisions behind it, from transit orientation to decarbonization

Date: Sept.14, 2026
