The AIA Housing & Community Development Knowledge Committee teamed up with the AIA Committee on the Environment to unpack three recent affordable housing winners of the AIA COTE Top Ten Awards.
The panel features two DBA principals: Chelsea Johnson, who organized and moderated, and Katie Ackerly, who presents.
The panel highlights the last three affordable housing winners of the COTE Top Ten Award: Coliseum Place by David Baker Architects (2025), Casa Adelante by Mithun (2024), and Pacific Landing by Patrick Tighe Architecture (2023). Panelists discussed strategies for setting and achieving ambitious sustainability goals with clients and how their projects advance climate performance and equity, despite operating within tight resource constraints.
