RESHAP (Rebuilding the Existing Supportive Housing at Alameda Point) is the redevelopment of 10 acres of the former navy base in the City of Alameda. DBA is partnered with MidPen Housing and three local Alameda non-profts—Alameda Point Collaborative, Building Futures, and Operation Dignity—to develop create a cohesive community providing 267 stable new homes with enhanced services for the residents while also re-energizing Alameda’s Main Street Neighborhood.

Together with MidPen, DBA created and implemented a highly collaborative resident engagement process that informed the City’s future specifc plan for the neighborhood and a proposed site plan with the goals of modernization, community-supporting open spaces, enhanced supportive services, and increased housing capacity. Engagement opportunities included: monthly meetings with residents, focus groups with development partners, community-wide design input meetings, and one-on-one interview opportunities.

The RESHAP Alameda Plan was unanimously approved by the Alameda Planning Commission in September 2017 and the housing is currently in design.

Site Plan - each non-profit partner will have their own buildings, with all partners sharing the 'community barn'
