This gateway building will be located on a prominent half-acre lot at the corner of Polk and California Streets.
The design utilizes the State of California Affordable Housing Density bonus to increase residential by 35% to 100 apartments, over 40% of which have a minimum of two bedrooms (including 13 three-bedroom apartments). The market-rate buildng will integrate nine affordable apartments on site.
The ground level will contain seven retail spaces facing the busy Polk neighborhood commercial corridor and stepping up California Street. The building has no automobile parking, and will offer 117 secure bicycle parking spaces.
