Linden Court

Oakland CA | Completed

2003

This high-density design brings new affordable homes to a compact site in West Oakland without sacrificing neighborhood scale.

The community offers both townhomes and apartments, with three- and four-bedroom townhouses designed to accommodate large or multigenerational families. The apartments top a partially below-grade parking garage, which allows for residential stoops that activate the public sidewalk and provide space for personalization.

A community pavilion in the courtyard features a large common room with high ceilings, a kitchen with an outdoor BBQ zone, and property management offices. The local community informed the development throughout, and relationships were maintained with all existing residents to ensure active participation in the design, and to offer first placement in the new project.
