DBA_Inside provided interior architecture, art, and furnishings for the Rivermark, affordable family housing in West Sacramento.

Community kitchen and room inside Rivermark in Sacramento, Ca.

Accessed through a large sliding barn door, the community kitchen hosts nutrition and cooking classes and events for residents.

This affordable family housing is home to 70 families and stands as a beacon for the newly developing Bridge District.

The project features extensive common uses, including a breezy lobby and mailroom, a sunny management office suite, and creative and flexible common areas.

Artworks from Creativity Explored—a non-profit studio and gallery supporting developmentally disabled artists—appear throughout the public spaces. Works were selected based on cheerful color palettes and details that scaled well for large spaces. The enlarged pieces were printed directly on panels to create a durable, economical art collection that can be easily replaced in case of damage.
