Midway Village Framework Plan

Daly City CA | Completed

2019

Midway Village is the thoughtful redevelopment and expansion of an existing San Mateo County Housing Authority property and established community that replaces 150 aging, outmoded units with 555 new, sustainable homes in 12 buildings plus freestanding townhouses.

This Master Plan will create a balanced, sustainable community and provide residents and neighbors with a revitalized 3.3-acre city park, child-development center, extensive community amenity spaces, and on-site resident services.

DBA and MidPen Housing communicated extensively with existing residents and neighbors to add density while staying sensitive to neighboring context. We led multiple community meetings that included listening sessions, open comments, and community design exercises, all of which informed and improved the final plan and the design of the housing.

The result is a vibrant, contextually sensitive plan that will serve residents with a mix of incomes up to 120% AMI without displacement through the multi-phase development of the 15-acre site.

Midway Village Phase 1 Housing is currently under construction and Phase 2 is currently in design—both by DBA.
