789 Minnesota

San Francisco CA | Design Complete

Located in the Dogpatch Historic District of San Francisco, 789 Minnesota is a mixed-use market-rate 110-apartment community that faces onto Esprit Park.

This proposed design, located in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco, proposes 112 apartments, 3000SF of commercial space fronting Esprit Park, and a south-facing public plaza off 20th Street. The front door will be located at 789 Minnesota Street.

With the help of the Dogpatch Neighborhood Association, 789 Minnesota underwent an extensive community engagement process. We are grateful to the DNA for their thoughtful input. The above diagram and list document revisions that were made to the original design during the community engagement process. The result is a better building that we believe will have very positive impact on the Dogpatch neighborhood and streetscape.

A public plaza off 20th Street provides visual access to the large private courtyard.

Streetscape improvements include sidewalk bulb-outs at the Southeast and Southwest corners, as well as a Living Alley and public plaza on 20th Street designed by Fletcher Studio.

This historic district has distinctive industrial buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Our design respects this historic fabric while maintaining a modern sensibility. The strategy is based on two distinctive window patterns and warm earth-tone colors based on local clays.
